On October 31st, the Farroupilha (RS) unit successfully installed an Eco-tent, a voluntary drop-off point for recyclable waste designed to involve businesses and citizens in promoting sustainability. The initiative also aims to raise environmental awareness and education, support recycling efforts, and improve waste management practices. This initiative is the result of a partnership between Trombini and the Paz e Bem Recyclables Cooperative, from Caxias do Sul, creator of the project.

Now, the unit’s collaborators can bring small electronic waste, glass, empty medicine packaging, metal, plastics, and used cooking oil to the Eco-tent. Materials dropped off at the Eco-tent will be sent to the cooperative for sorting and recycling.

The unit’s environmental team will oversee the initiative, emphasizing the importance of implementing actions that promote sustainability in a meaningful and impactful way.

“The installation of the Eco-tent at the company highlights the unit’s dedication to sustainability. This program encourages our team to recycle and extend the lifecycle of waste while also demonstrating social responsibility by supporting the recycling cooperative, which plays a vital role in the recycling chain,” says environmental analyst Ana Paula Conte.

According to Environmental Technical Manager Tífani Soares, “This initiative is essential for fostering a culture of environmental responsibility, showing that small actions can have a significant impact on preserving our planet.”

Elisângela Silvestrin, the unit’s Administrative Coordinator, also attended the inauguration. She emphasized that the initiative aims to promote proper waste segregation and disposal. She believes that the commitment of collaborators is crucial to achieving overall sustainability.

Production Assistant Patricia dos Santos shares this view and highlights the initiative’s positive impact. “The Eco-tent facilitates proper waste segregation, supporting recycling efforts and reducing the need for extracting new natural resources. This, in turn, helps protect the environment and preserve biodiversity,” she explains.

It’s worth noting that Trombini also sponsors an Eco-tent at the Andreazza supermarket in Caxias do Sul, made possible through the support of the Paz e Bem Cooperative.
