Forest management

Forest management is an essential practice in our manufacturing processes.
It involves a series of techniques and strategies adopted to meet current legal
and environmental requirements aiming at the preservation of natural ecosystems.

Forest management

How we conduct
responsible forest
management

If you’ve ever wondered what our process behind reforesting pine and eucalyptus species is like, you’ve come to the right place!

Check out below the stages of responsible forest management and how crucial it is in the production of our paper packaging solutions.

First of all, you need to find the ideal places for planting. Each piece of land is mapped in detail, identifying Permanent Preservation Areas (PPAs), legal reserves and other land uses, always respecting environmental standards. We only use wood from renewable (planted) forests, and we do not adopt deforestation practices for timber extraction or for planting forests.

Here, forest management is taken seriously. All environmental standards and legislation are strictly followed, ensuring that planting is conducted in consolidated areas and without harming the environment. Furthermore, our wood undergoes internal and external audits to guarantee its controlled origin.

We have an international certification that attests to the implementation of the best sustainable practices throughout the entire production chain, guaranteeing the origin and traceability of the paper’s raw material.

Pine and eucalyptus species have important roles in our production. Pine, with its long, resistant fibers, is used in the manufacture of multilayer paper bags. Eucalyptus is used to generate energy and steam, as is pine bark, which is also used in this process, essential for our production.

In addition to responsible forest management, we also raise people’s awareness. Through lectures in schools, participation in academic events and other community actions, we socially reinforce the importance of preserving forests and various pro-environmental actions, such as selective collection and recycling, for example.

We currently have almost 5 thousand hectares of planted forests and more than 6 thousand hectares preserved in PPAs, legal reserves and native areas.
