Multilayer Paper Bags

The bags have characteristics that allow excellent printing quality, providing stunning visibility to the customer’s brand at the sales point.

The paper used in its manufacture is highly consistent refined kraft extensible, in natural or white colors, which presents excellent mechanical properties and is completely composed of virgin fibers from forests planted for this purpose.

If there is a need for barriers to different permeates, such as oxygen and water vapor, an extruded, laminated or loose plastic film can be added to the paper to be in direct contact with the bagged product or as an intermediate layer. In the case of GOM and PBDS styles, it is possible to seal the plastic film at the bottom end.

The definition of the types of plastic materials present in the film (HDPE, LDPE, LLDPE, EVOH and additives) depends on the packaged product.

The glued open mouth bags may have from one to four layers and have a hexagonal shaped bottom, with the option of being reinforced with an extra layer, whose functions are to provide greater resistance to pressure and eliminate leakage from the corners.

The after filling closure system adopted by the customer can be sewing or gluing. When there is a need for sift-proof, the second option is the most suitable.

In this case, the bags can be made with an open end flush cut mouth and hot melt adhesives applied. However, the customer must have a device to reactivate the adhesive and, if plastic film is attached, be able to seal it. There are good options on the market to supply these systems.
